At Five Lanes, we take part in Worship every day.

We are lucky to work very closely with the Parish Church in both Potterne and Worton and we share worship with our Open The Book on every other Friday - this is led by our local community volunteers. Worship is interactive and the children enjoy taking part in the acting out of the stories shared from the Bible. Our children respond well and learn a great deal from this experience.

Worship themes aren't restricted to our collective times in the hall. Worship is taken back into the classroom and is reflected in each and every child in school through fantastic teaching.

On a Friday we invite our families to  Celebration Worship, where we share our successes from the week and rejoice in achievements. We celebrate the many achievements including academic, citizenship and sporting achievements.

Please take a look at St. Mary's Church, Potterne, Wiltshire on facebook too!

Our School Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for our school,

For the pupils, staff and the families that we come from,

Thank you for the chance to learn, play and grow together,

It takes many hands to build a house,

and we have many hearts to fill our school,

Amen

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.

Spirituality at Five Lanes

At Five Lanes, all aspects of school life reflect a Christian ethos and this policy is based on Christian principles. We believe that it is very important to provide all children with a range of opportunities to help them develop spiritually. We believe that spiritual development may not be synonymous with Religious Education and Collective Worship and can be explored through many different curriculum areas.

Spirituality at Five Lanes Primary means noticing the amazing world around us, finding meaning in what we do, and feeling connected to ourselves, to others and to the wider world. We take time to reflect, recognise our personal growth, and notice the glow in our experiences. We consider how we can share this glow through our actions in school, within our community and beyond. We support one another to develop self-worth and celebrate our inner strength, enabling everyone to fulfil their potential.
