Starting School in Reception

Starting school is an important milestone for children and their families. At Five Lanes, we work closely with parents and carers to ensure that children settle quickly and feel confident as they begin their school journey.

Our Reception class provides a nurturing and engaging environment where children develop early skills in communication, reading, writing and mathematics through a balance of structured teaching and purposeful play. We place great importance on building strong relationships and supporting children to feel happy and secure in their new setting.

We offer opportunities for families to visit the school, meet staff and learn more about our Early Years provision before children start.

Mid-Year Transfers

We understand that sometimes families need to move schools during the academic year. We welcome enquiries from families who may be relocating to the area or seeking a new school for their child.

If you are considering Five Lanes for a mid-year transfer, we encourage you to contact the school office to discuss availability and arrange a visit. We will work closely with families to support children in settling into their new class and becoming part of our school community.
